Patricia Baines's research

Patricia Baines carried out a great deal of research after Anthony’s death, reconstructing where he was located during the war and speaking with his friends and former comrades to gather anecdotes about his time as a prisoner of war.

Much of this material was made available to Joan Rimmer, whose memoir of Anthony Baines appeared in the Galpin Society Journal in April 1999. Patricia’s notes as well as the original correspondence and research she carried out are now part of the Anthony Baines Archive at the Bate Collection.
