Join us at the Bate Collection for a WHOLE WEEK of musical activities and exploration. The event is free, and all are welcome to join us, however most activities are designed primarily for children and families.

Chance to play the Gamelan collection.

Beethoven, Marches for Military Music

Anneke Scott and Steven Devine: Marches for Military Music - Beethoven
Period horn player Anneke Scott works with wind and brass students to explore the lesser-known Marches for Military Music by Beethoven, culminating in an outdoor concert. Anneke will then be joined by fortepianist Steven Devine for a performance of Beethoven’s Sonata for Horn and Piano op. 17, followed by a showcase of the pianos in the Bate Collection. Admission is free to all.

2020 is Beethoven’s 250th anniversary. To celebrate, the faculty is holding many concerts and workshops exploring his lesser-known works. Stay tuned.
