Lorenzo Ventapane, is one of the most significant figure in the Neapolitan violin-making tradition.
It is thought that he would have trained under a member of the esteemed Gagliano family, possibly Giovanni or his son Nicolò II.
This instrument is from c.1820 and is currently out on loan.
