This is the first time these items have been exhibited to the public, exploring the direction that violin making took during the latter half of the 19th century. Many of these items include templates for accurate copying as well as tools, patterns and some partially and fully carved instruments.
To add to this collection, the Bate has produced an illustrated catalogue which will prove captivating to those interested in the historical development of violin making.
