Photographic Services

The Bate Collection, as part of the Faculty of Music is a research and teaching department of the University of Oxford. It does not operate a commercial picture library and cannot normally supply images at short notice.

Please note that the Museum does not supply prints, only digital images on CD or via email.

Enquiries about ordering digital images of the collections should be sent to  andrew.lamb@music.ox.ac.uk

Enquiries about obtaining a licence to reproduce an image should be sent to  andrew.lamb@music.ox.ac.uk

Important Notes on Charges

• All orders are subject to a single handling charge of £10  • All digital images are supplied at the same cost of £15 each  • Postage (UK £2, Europe £4, World £6) and VAT (15%) – if applicable – are extra   • Payment should be made by sterling draft on a UK bank or US dollar equivalent  • Cheques should be made payable to ‘University of Oxford’  • Students are eligible for a 50% discount on proof of status  • The use of ordered images for teaching and educational use in a non-published format (i.e. class powerpoint, lecture etc) is allowed without the need for a specific licence. All other usages require a usage licence

Reproduction Fee Structure

If an image is to be reproduced, in any format (including web usage and exhibitions), an application must be made via email to andrew.lamb@music.ox.ac.uk, with the following information:  • Company/organisation name and address  • Title of publication/ project  • Editor(s) or Producer(s)  • Number and identity of all images required (including accession numbers)  • Duration of licence required, and specific dates  • Whether the licence is for scholarly/educational/commercial purposes  • Indicating the appropriate category and fee level
